Obituary for Cécile Thérèse Krammer

Cécile Thérèse Krammer
February 16, 1948 - August 22, 2022

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Cécile Thérèse Krammer of Edmonton, Alberta, at the age of 74 years. Cécile suffered from a heart condition, as well as severe asthma.

She was an avid traveller and loved to cook for family, friends, and those in need. Born in Bonnyville, Alberta, Cécile’s love of reading led her to pursue a Library Technician Certificate at SAIT, in 1967. She graduated from that college with the highest scholastic standing. Then, desiring a better life for her offspring, she studied tirelessly at night and on weekends to earn a B.Ed from the U of A; from which she also graduated with high honours. In her teaching career - to quote her own words - she, “dedicated (her) life to children,” spending long hours to help those who struggled. Some years later, she even pursued a master’s degree: her eyes fixed on becoming an ideal principal. However, sadly, health issues cut that mission short.

Friends often recall Cécile as giving to a fault; driving people to doctor’s appointments, giving tarot readings to those at crossroads, and always lending a patient ear to any troubled soul.

Cécile is survived by Jan, her loving husband of three decades; brothers and sisters, Anna (Albert) Laplante, Léon (Lizette) Husereau, Paul (Jeanette Schlitt) Husereau, and George (Lenore) Husereau; sons, Jonathon (Letishia Soungie-Krammer) Krammer, and Laurier (Eiko) Tiernan; grandchildren, Jenifer Roy, Ganessia Soungie-Krammer, Kholeton Soungie-Krammer, and Zavion Campbell.

Cécile was predeceased by her mother, Blanche; her father, Albert Husereau; sister, Rhéa Gagnon; daughter, Rachelle Husereau; maternal grandparents, Wilfred and Régina Laplante; aunt, Thérèse Beaudoin, and many other loved ones.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 3, 2022, at 1 p.m. at St. Dominic Savio Roman Catholic Church, 14406 - 62 Street NW, Edmonton, Alberta with Reverend Father Sagayaraj Devadoss, SDB officiating. Cremation has taken place. Her widower requests that only family members attend.
