We are heartbroken to announce the peaceful passing of Mary Chorney (nee Bucyk) on November 26, 2018, at the age of 92 years.
Mary is survived by her son, Maxuim (fiancé Elsa Kavanagh); daughters, MaryAnn (Bill) Baziuk and Rosemarie; seven grandchildren, Brian (Christina), Kathleen (Ryan), Matthew (Cat), Katrina (Mikael), Daniel (Kelsey), Ashley (fiancé Phillip) and Markiana (boyfriend Andy); and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Peter; and sisters-in-law, Nancy, Eileen, Thelma and Sharon; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Walter; her parents, Nicholas and Anne; seven brothers and four sisters; daughter-in-law, Joanne; and great grandson, Christopher.
Prayer Service Friday, December 7 at 8:00 p.m. at St. John’s Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 10951-107 Street, Edmonton.
Funeral Rite Saturday, December 8 at 9:30 a.m. at St. John’s Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral. Right Reverend Father Stephan Semotiuk officiating with interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to Kipnes Centre for Veterans or CUOCE, Camp Bar-V-Nok Ukrainian Orthodox Camp.
