Our mother, Marion Syska Hallett, courageously passed just before sunrise on November 21, 2018.
Her strong faith, guiding principles, thirst for knowledge, resilience and conviction defined our pillar of strength. She was known for living life to the fullest, her acts of generosity and kindness, her ability to engage and her discerning, elegant style. Our mother taught us valuable life skills woven with honesty and integrity. She left an imprint on many who had the pleasure of knowing her. We will miss her sense of humor, her optimistic attitude, her tenacity and above all, her true love.
Marion is survived by her children, Michael Kowalchuk (Wanda), Marina and John (Susan); grandchildren, Michaela, Lara, Christopher, Alexandra and Ashlee (David); great-grandson, Felipe; brother, Fred (Andrea); as well as nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her loving husband, Tommy.
Funeral Mass Thursday, November 29 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Basilica, 10044 – 113 Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Edmonton Women’s Shelter Ltd – WIN House, PO Box 20088, RPO Beverly, Edmonton, AB, T5W 5E6.
